ATELIER STANDARD

THE RULES OF THE PRACTICE

RANDOLPH LOUDE ATELIER is the highest tier of the practice: original works, commissioned works, authorized reissues, and works formally held or issued through the Atelier Archive.

The Atelier Standard establishes the framework through which qualifying works are identified, classified, documented, authenticated, and maintained within the Randolph Loude system.

A work’s identity begins at its initial registration with the Atelier. That identity is intended to remain connected to the work throughout its documented history.

THE WORK

An Atelier work is a work formally issued, commissioned, or otherwise recognized through Randolph Loude Atelier.

Depending on the work, its medium may include photography, painting, digital processes, mixed media, garments, objects, sculpture, or combinations of physical and digital processes.

Medium does not determine whether something belongs to Atelier.

Classification does.

An object or garment may therefore exist as an Atelier work when created and documented as such, while a commercially released garment or object may exist separately under VARIABLES.

DOCUMENTATION

Qualifying Atelier works may be accompanied by documentation including:

Certificate of Authenticity & Provenance
Stamped serial identification
Edition information, where applicable
Unique QR identification
Digital Atelier record

These elements collectively establish the Atelier’s documentation surrounding a work.

The physical certificate and digital record are connected through the serial and corresponding QR code.

IDENTITY

Every qualifying Atelier work receives a serial identity within the Randolph Loude system.

The serial may be physically applied to the Certificate of Authenticity & Provenance using the Atelier’s stamping process.

The original serial establishes the work’s origin within the system.

If the work later enters another recognized Atelier classification, its original identity is preserved rather than replaced.

Subsequent classifications may therefore be appended to the existing serial while maintaining the work’s underlying lineage.

DIGITAL RECORD

A unique QR code may accompany qualifying Atelier documentation and connect the physical certificate to the corresponding digital record.

Where a public Provenance record exists, the QR code may provide direct access to the record associated with that specific work.

The digital record supplements the physical documentation. It does not replace the physical work or its Certificate of Authenticity & Provenance.

OWNERSHIP

Ownership of an Atelier work refers to ownership of the physical work itself unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Acquisition does not automatically transfer copyright, reproduction, licensing, publication, merchandising, or other intellectual-property rights.

CONTINUITY

The Atelier Standard may evolve as new mediums, technologies, and methods of production enter the practice.

Changes to the Standard do not invalidate documentation properly issued under an earlier version.
